Team Lead – Financial Advisory

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven professional to lead our Financial Advisory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, structuring, and executing capital market transactions and advisory mandates, while ensuring full compliance with SEC regulations and internal governance standards.
This role is ideal for a strategic leader with strong expertise in investment banking, corporate finance, and capital markets, and a proven ability to drive deal execution and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and mentor the Financial Advisory team to achieve strategic and revenue objectives.
Originate, structure, and execute capital market transactions including equity and debt issuances, Sukuk, Nigerian Commercial Papers (NCPs), mergers & acquisitions, and restructuring mandates.
Provide high-level financial advisory services to corporate clients and institutional investors.
Drive business development initiatives, including client acquisition and mandate conversion.
Build, manage, and strengthen long-term client relationships; lead negotiations and transaction processes.
Ensure all transactions and advisory activities comply with SEC regulations and corporate governance standards.
Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in investment banking, financial advisory, or capital markets, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Demonstrated experience in equity and debt capital raising, corporate finance advisory, and M&A transactions.
Proven track record in deal origination, execution, and client relationship management.
Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and negotiation skills.
An MBA or MSc is an advantage.
Relevant professional certifications (CFA, ICAN, ACCA) are desirable.
Islamic finance certifications (CSAA, CISSA, CIPA) will be considered an added advantage.
